Faye Forster

Faye comes to GTK with a wealth of occupational therapy experience in a range of settings, including community based disability services, private practice and six years working in Singapore in the paediatric disability area. Faye enjoys the collaborative process with clients and therapists to problem solve and create innovative solutions. She appreciates the opportunities to introduce assistive technology solutions to people that can make their lives easier, realise new possibilities and assist them to achieve their goals, whatever those goals may be.

Faye particularly enjoys trials when the equipment is for leisure. She recalls a trial of the Hippocampe All Terrain wheelchair with a young boy, when the child’s whole family came along to the trial at the beach. Before she knew it, the Dad had stripped down to his shorts, ran along the beach pushing the Hippocampe, with his son laughing uproariously the whole time. The entire family then joined in, testing the wheelchair in the water while still fully clothed, and everyone was full of excitement to see what a difference the wheelchair could make.

When Faye isn’t helping people achieve their goals through assistive technology, she can be found running. A keen recreational runner, Faye is often out running marathons and trail running. Or eating donuts- as she’s says, it’s all about balance.
