The Side Pull tensioning function of the hip belt is ideal to be operated by the caregiver and tensions from the rear of the pad pulling toward the centre. This means there is more ‘force’ which is great for enhanced positioning, particularly for clients with high muscle tone. The hip belt counters pelvic rotation by allowing the caregiver to position one side of the pelvis, lock it in place and then position on the other side.
