Chris from Blake Medical will highlight the unique benefits of dry polymer gel, which provides stable, immersive protection without leaking or migrating. Naturally temperature-regulating and vibration-dampening, this versatile material has broad applications across cushions, bathing equipment, lift chairs, vehicles, and more – supporting both comfort and skin integrity management.
In the second half of the program, David Fagan will present on Star Cushions, Axiom Cushions, and the Kalogon Booster system. Star’s vertical air cell technology offers unparalleled immersion and envelopment for those at high risk of pressure injuries, while the StarLock cushion combines redistribution, stability, and postural support with the flexibility to shape, offload, and reset as individual needs evolve. Meet the Presenters:
Chris Hawkins (Blake Medical)
Chris Hawkins is the VP of Sales and Product Development for Blake Medical. His 20 years in Medical devices is routed in specialty foams and gel polymers. This self proclaimed “Foam Nerd” has developed and brought to market over 50 therapeutic seating systems, accessories and sleep solutions. He has a passion for making complicated clients comfortable using the Geo-Matrix gel technology, and teaching others to do the same.
David Fagan (Paragon Mobility)
David graduated from University with a Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics in 1994. Working in the AT arena, David owned and Managed Sunshine Orthopaedic Services for 17 years, from where he made the transition to complex wheelchairs and seating in the late 90’s. David has been fortunate to seek education and direction from many of the world’s leading experts in Specialised and Custom Seating, Complex Wheelchair and Commode prescription with special areas of interest including a Spinal Cord Injury, Brain Injury and Neurological conditions.
Throughout his career David has worked in the field as a Director of Motion Specialties and built a business that focuses on High End Bespoke solutions for clients, and at a supplier Level as Managing Director of Paragon Mobility. David has spent a career learning and educating people about the positive outcomes the product he supplies can bring to people’s lives.
