The Quantum Rehab Clinical Mastery Day is a hands-on clinical event to empower therapists to understand, trial and justify power chairs and alternate controls through real world practice, not just theory.
Choosing the right power chair can feel overwhelming. With so many power bases, drive options and access methods available, many clinicians feel apprehensive when it comes to selecting and justifying the most appropriate solution for their client.
The Quantum Rehab Clinical Mastery Day is designed to change that.
Delivered collaboratively by Quantum Rehab and GTK, this immersive clinical education day is focused on empowering clinicians at all experience levels to confidently dissect power chairs, understand how and why they work, and apply that knowledge to real world prescription and funding justification.
We believe that to truly understand a product and put theory into practice, clinicians need time to trial, explore and experience it. This philosophy underpins the entire day. Led by a team of passionate Clinical Educators, the workshop is vibrant, practical, and built around learning by doing.

Topics
Power Bases in Practice: The first half of the day focuses on Quantum Rehab power bases, including a dedicated look at the new Edge 4. We will break down the key differences between major bases, explore their functional and clinical benefits, and discuss how to match these features to individual client needs.
Participants will have the opportunity to trial each base and drive them through practical scenarios, supporting clearer clinical reasoning and stronger justification when selecting a power chair.
Driving and Access: The afternoon shifts focus to how we drive power chairs and access their functions. We will explore joystick options, expandable versus non expandable electronics, and a wide range of alternate control systems.

Meet the Presenters:
Kate Pain (GTK)
Kate comes from an occupational therapy background, with two decades of experience in varied settings, specialising in wheelchair seating and positioning. She finds the evolution of power wheelchair alternate drive technology fascinating, and looks forward to exciting innovations becoming more readily available in power wheelchairs.
Kate really enjoys appointments with children who are trying out a wheelchair for the first time. She loves seeing the excitement in their eyes as they move independently for the first time – it’s contagious!
Kate also enjoys working with adults trialling a wheelchair for the first time, who have a lifetime of limiting perceptions about using a wheelchair, who then realise that the right equipment can amplify their abilities and enjoyment of life.
