Sentheesh Thiruchelvam

Sentheesh started his occupational therapy career in early intervention with children with autism spectrum disorder and global developmental delay. He spent several years working at Northcott’s CATS team, specialising in assistive technology before moving into mobility equipment prescription for clients with physical disabilities. After Northcott, Sentheesh established a private practice alongside a colleague, continuing to focus on equipment prescription, before coming to join us at GTK.

Sentheesh enjoys the trial and scripting process where all the pieces are put together, and then seeing the final fitting and delivery when it all comes together for the client. He likes developing complex seating and power wheelchair solutions for clients. He says some of his favourite moments at GTK are when he gets to deliver a child’s first mobility device and sees their smile when they can move independently for the first time.

In his spare time and when he’s not driving a GTK van, he likes to ride his motorbike and spend time with his kids.
