Before joining GTK, Garry spent several years working in assistive technology prescription, with a focus on paediatric equipment. His additional background in automotive work and hands-on experience with tools has been invaluable when customising and fine-tuning assistive technology equipment to meet individual needs.

Garry finds that the most rewarding parts of his job is setting up equipment that transforms a person’s life, whether it’s increasing their mobility or helping them achieve better comfort and positioning. He particularly enjoys seeing people gain newfound independence, such as pushing their wheelchair for the first time or learning to navigate with a joystick. One of his most memorable experiences was helping a child who had never ridden a bike; after setting up a tricycle during a park appointment, the child quickly started riding, bringing joy to the family and leaving a lasting impression on him. He says it’s moments like these remind him why he does what he does.

Outside of work, Garry enjoys spending time at the racetrack racing or drifting, working on his racecar, or relaxing with his puppy.
