Optimising Manual Wheelchair and Power Assist Device Prescription: Getting the Best of Both Worlds

Join GTK and Apex Mobility for an engaging workshop on prescribing the right manual wheelchair and power assist device to transform mobility into independence, comfort, and quality of life.

Prescribing the right manual wheelchair is about more than mobility—it’s about fostering independence, comfort, and quality of life. A well-matched wheelchair supports functional goals and integrates seamlessly into daily life, while a poorly chosen one can lead to discomfort, inefficient propulsion, and even long-term physical harm.

Power assist devices further enhance mobility and independence, but selecting the right one requires a thorough, evidence-based process that balances clinical assessments with user preferences. By understanding how wheelchair components, configuration, and power assist devices work together, you can create tailored solutions that meet each user’s unique needs and lifestyle.
