Raz CAT Compact Attendant Tilt Shower Commode Chair
The Raz-CAT has all of the features of the Raz AT but in a more compact size. For pediatrics, adolescents or smaller adults, the Raz-CAT provides a fit that is better suited to physically smaller clients.
- The base and seat frames retain the 18” width of the Raz AT so that the chair can still be positioned over a toilet.
- The base frame has been shorted by 3”, which makes the chair more maneuverable.
- The seat frame depth has been reduced and a depth-adjustable back offers depths from 12” to 15” (to front of frame) or up to 17” with the front of the seat overhanging the seat frame.
- The standard seat has an elongated aperture that works with seat depths from 12” to 15”.
- Custom seats are available.
- The depth-adjustable back provides growth capability, an essential component for pediatrics.
- Back frames can be ordered in widths 14”, 16” and 18”.
- Available back heights are 15” and 18”.

Features
Tilt function
The seat frame on the Raz CAT tilts for extra pressure reduction and comfort. The locking pneumatic springs provide infinite adjustment up to 40°, and pressurised springs also help lift seat frame to an upright position. The tilt trigger is conveniently located to provide smooth tilt control.
Ischial Pelvic Alignment System (IPAS)
The Ischial Pelvic Alignment System (see video below) provides 2” (5cm) of fore/aft adjustment so the seat can be aligned with the pelvis. The IPAS allows centering of the aperture (opening) around the user’s ischial tuber-sixties. The seat locks in place for transfers and removes easily for cleaning. Optional spacers are available for anterior or posterior seat angle adjustment.
Commode pan
The Injection-moulded pan is designed for function and includes a lid for splash and odour control. The wide handle angled at 45 degrees provides better ergonomics, while the sloped front of pan moves contents toward the handle to reduce offset load, thereby making it easier to carry. Receiver brackets under the seat are visible from the rear of the chair, making it easier to slide the pan into place. The pan fits in a standard autoclave for sterilisation.
Tilt assist pedal
The tilt assist pedal helps an attendant initiate tilt for heavier users or users with a forward weight distribution. It enables the attendant to use additional strength from legs to tilt larger/heavier users. The tilt assist pedal is constructed from solid stainless steel and fits directly into chair frame, and includes an anti-slip tread on pedal.
Adjustable footplates
The footrests are removable for transfers and cleaning. The footrests swing in and out easily and the flip-up footplate moves easily out of the way when needed. You can adjust for leg length without tools, with the footrest available in regular length of 16″ to 20½” (40cm to 52cm) and extended length 18″ to 22½” (46cm to 57cm).
Headrest (small)
The headrest size is approximately 10” (25cm) wide x W x 4” (10cm) height. The integral skin foam headrest is easy to clean, and the headrest is shaped to cradle the head and can be adjusted to fit looser or tighter. Headrest support can be adjusted infinitely forward and backwards within a 5½” (14cm) range, and vertically within a 11½” (29cm) range. The headrest angle can be adjusted for comfort.

Warranty Information
A two-year limited warranty covers the frame against manufacturing defects. A one-year limited warranty covers all other components, subject to normal wear and tear exclusions.
