Symmetrikit Powered Positioning Chair (Medium)

$13,524.00

The Symmetrikit Positioning Chair is a great tool in 24 hour positioning for clients of all ages and needs. The positioning system is easy to set up and incorporate into families daily routines. The Symmetrikit chair is extremely versatile and can be set up as simply or complex as a person’s requires. Its flexibility means it can be changed or added to as the user grows or their posture changes.

As well as providing great support to help you lie back and relax, your Symmetrikit chair can be quickly repositioned to provide support in day to day activities which require more “functional” positions; your chair can quickly be brought up to an upright or forward tilted position for meal times, play or other “tray-work”. The correct position for PEG feeding can be easily achieved.

The Symmetrikit medium chair comes standard with two fingerform supports, which can be adjusted up and down, in and out, angled, set off to one side and even to pivot. This ability allows one to accurately follow the shape of the spine and support the whole trunk. Two more fingerform supports are available if required.

The powered Symmetrikit chair is available with powered tilt, recline and legrest elevation.

The optional free standing table has a generous work surface and can be angled and rotated to suit your needs. It can be quickly removed and folded away.

Please note that the medium sized Symmetrikit chair with classic covers (black) and Aero insert is the option available to purchase online. This Symmetrikit chair option will be suitable for most people with covers as it fits from 7 years old right up to users 190cm tall and 140kg. If you are interested in a different size chair or different cover options please contact us.

This product is expected to ship within 5 days of your order being placed.

Positioning for pressure relief
It’s common knowledge that getting the seating correct will reduce point pressures: Getting the seat depth correct and making sure that as much weight as possible is taken through the leg rest and arm rests are the key steps to redistributing the load. Using tilt in space can spread some of the load onto the back rest. Even if pressure is not the main concern, getting these right will allow for more comfortable long term sitting. Every aspect of the chair can be easily adjusted for correct fitting, support and growth.

Tilt-in-space
Tilt-in-space allows an easy change of position without disturbing any of the other chair settings. Tilt back to relax, forward for function or to get in and out. A major benefit of tilt=-in-space is pressure reduction, where the optimal tilt angle can reduce pressure peak and mean pressure by 40% compared to neutral sitting.

Easy to live with
The Symmetrikit chair is are compact yet multi-functional and easy to clean. Quick release arms help facilitate side transfers and can help with sling fitting. The easy flip up footplate provides proper support to the feet and ankles but can be easily flipped up when not needed.
Symmetrikit Coolover
Temperature control

High temperatures are not good news: they can lead to a reduction in skin integrity: High humidity and damp skin are not only uncomfortable but can contribute to tissue breakdown. High temperatures can also mean increased metabolic demand and further discomfort. The optional Coolover cover option uses Omnitherm® technology to actively manage temperature and a clever variable Denier knit enhances wicking to improve the micro climate.

Symmetrikit lowzone cushion
Choice of cushions

The Lowzone Contour cushion is provided on the Symmetrikit chair as standard. This viscoelastic foam cushion is regarded as providing ‘medium-high’ pressure relief.

A Coolover gel cushion, specially designed to help with temperature regulation, is also available as an option. You can also ‘BYO’ your own cushion, where your Symmetrikit chair can come with a space to securely fit your own cushion into the seat.

Supportive backs available:

Symmetrikit with Fingerform backs
The Fingerform back
Fingerform users tend to have more complex wheelchair seating, and cannot tolerate anything supportive in their ‘relax’ seating. Individual ‘fingers’ can be adjusted up and down, in and out, angled, set off to one side or to pivot. This adjustability allows the shape of the spine to be accurately followed to support the whole trunk.
Symmetricare back
The Symmetricare back
For users who need some support but not as much adjustability as the Fingerform back, the Symmetricare back is available. This provides a secure ‘hug’ with adjustability without unneeded complexity.
Symmetrikit chair with back support
MaxRelax back adjustment
The MaxRelax design makes it easier to move between reclined and upright positions, reducing shear forces and minimising gaps appearing between seat and back. In manual chairs, this design also eliminates any sudden movements when the backrest is released.

This Symmetrikit chair option will be suitable for most people with covers as it fits from 7 years old right up to users 190cm tall and 140kg.
