Quickie QS5 X Manual Wheelchair
The Quickie QS5 X redefines easy folding with FreeFold technology, saving you over 40% energy with every fold. Its innovative cross-brace design reduces the effort needed to fold your wheelchair, minimizing strain on your shoulders. For added convenience during transport, the optional folding fixation keeps the frame securely locked, preventing accidental openings.
Weighing as little as 7.3 kg (without wheels), the QS5 X is the lightest aluminum box frame wheelchair available. Built from heat-treated 7000 series aluminum, its oval-tubed 4-arm cross brace delivers exceptional rigidity and ride performance—rivaling that of a rigid wheelchair. With the Quickie QS5 X, folding, lifting, and transporting your wheelchair has never been easier.
Features

FreeFold – Over 40% energy saved with every fold.
Easy to fold and stays folded – thanks to the innovative FreeFold feature. FreeFold stands for sophisticated and precise engineering of the folding geometry, resulting in particularly little force when folding and unfolding. During folding, the wheel camber does not change and the folded wheelchair stands solidly on the ground – a real benefit if you are frequently folding and transporting your QS5 X.

Fold-n-Lock
The optional Fold-n-Lock conveniently keeps the chair securely folded. With a simple ‘click’, your wheelchair can now remain in a compact fold. No need to hold closed while lifting or storing.

Sleek and modern lines
The Quickie QS5 X features a minimal design with hidden adjustments and seamlessly integrated castor link tubes. Few visible holes or holes to compromise aesthetics – this gives your Quickie QS5 X a stylish and sophisticated appearance.

Ovalised tubing
The ovalised tubing of the Quickie QS5 X’s 4-arm cross brace is stiffer, stronger and lighter than conventional round tubes. This makes it less likely to flex under pressure, providing the outstanding rigidity and reduced flex with riding and effortless folding.

Easy propelling and lifting
The Quickie QS5 X is one of the lightest aluminium folding box frame on the market, with a transport weight of 7.3kg for the fixed front and 7.5kg for the swingaway front. It is not only comfortable to lift, transport but also effortless to self-propel to increase the rider’s energy efficiency. The material and construction make all the difference – strong doesn‘t always have to mean heavy. The frame of the QS5 X is made of high-grade 7000 series aluminum, designed for an exceptionally high strength-to-weight ratio and is used in many aerospace applications where strength, durability and weight are essential factors.

Superior rigidity
Heat treating the aluminium frame by using Quickie’s proprietary manufacturing process allows the frame to be thinner and lighter, without sacrificing strength. The result is a wheelchair that is surprisingly easy to life and that transfers more of your push to the wheels.

Perfect for power assist
The front frame of the Quickie QS5 X features high quality forged parts, designed to withstand the high load power assist devices apply to the frame. Manufactured with precision, it ensures the front end remains strong for a stable ride and long durability, while their unique design offers a stylish look.

Bright, removable LED lights
In many situations, it’s good to have your own light – if you need to go to the bathroom at night and don’t want to illuminate the whole house, or if you’re on your way home in the evening and need to see obstacles that could throw you off balance. The Quickie QS5 X’s LED lights are a great solution. Discreetly integrated into the overall design of your Quickie QS5 X, and removable for charging, the LED lights provide a great feature to light your way when you need them.

Ergonomic touch points
The Quickie QS5 X features touch points on the castor link, knee-bend and back frame that provide a comfortable grip to prevent slipping in transfer or transport situations. Rider input makes these touch points one of many consumer-led innovations. This allows for easy lifting, reducing strain on your wrists, especially during daily use. Additionally, they protect the wheelchair frame from scratches.

Patented castor link
Thanks to the 3 way adjustable, patented castor links it’s possible to adjust straight tracking of the QS5 X. Straight tracking means less energy lost in counter steering.

New knee lever wheel lock
Designed with reduced hand strength in mind, this ergonomically shaped wheel lock has undergone a complete redesign to minimise the force required for use, whilst keeping a strong lock on the rear wheel. By flipping backwards to activate, it helps prevent accidental release during transfers from your chair. It’s also lighter in weight.

Unleash your individuality
Unleash your individuality and customise your Quickie QS5 X to suit your style. From push handles to castor forks, you can personalize every detail with 24 vibrant frame colours, 4 castor fork colours, and 4 rim colours. You can even match your cross-brace colour to your frame, creating a look that’s uniquely yours.

Fixed-Front or Swing-Away?
The QS5 X is available with two different frame versions – Fixed-Front and Swing-Away.
The Fixed-Front version has footrests that are permanently attached to the chair frame, providing additional stability and support. This feature can be particularly beneficial for people with higher positioning demands, as it helps to keep the legs in an ideal position.
The Swing-Away version has footrests that can be swung away to the side, which enables a safe and comfortable transfer into the chair, especially from a standing position. By removing the footrest, it´s possible to position the wheelchair closer to the object you want to transfer on, furthermore the pack-size of the wheelchair will be minimised.
