Spex Stylo 260 Head Support Mechanism

The Spex Stylo Head Support mechanism has been designed to provide superior head and neck control for individuals with basic and moderate needs through to complex postural asymmetries. The Stylo mechanism provides superior adjustability and strength, with its extended links and ball and socket joints ensuring extra strength to endure great impact forces. In-built adjustment possibilities allows for better positioning of the head and neck in virtually any position.

The Stylo Head Support mechanism is ideal for the individual who:

        • Presents with increased thoracic or lumbar curvature of the spine and therefore requires the head support to be placed afar from the back support.
        • Presents with rotation or lateral flexion of the trunk and may require the head support to be positioned in a specific spot, offset from the back support.

The Stylo Head Support offers unparalleled adjustability to meet the most complex head positioning needs. The extended adjustable links, together with ball and socket joints allow for precise head positioning as they permit the head support pad to be positioned virtually anywhere within its length. Increased forward reach with 260mm possible. The improved ball mount design allows incredible range of angle adjustment, with total adjustment possible up to 270º.

A flip-back mechanism is available and is an excellent choice for individuals who require assistance with transfers in and out of the wheelchair. To operate the flip back mechanism, you simply slide the red collar up to disengage the stem and swing backwards.

The Stylo is easy to adjust and fine tune, with only one tool required (a 5mm hex/Allen key). The machined aluminium stem design incorporates two flat edges, ensuring no stem rotation for a fixed position that won’t slip. Extra strong design clamps up tightly to prevent lateral movement. The Stylo stem installs simply and easily into the mount, and easily removes when needed.
