Centre wheel drive (9)
These wheelchairs have the drive wheels in the middle of the frame, giving you the smallest turning circle in most situations. Through technology and design, mid wheel drive wheelchairs are stable outdoors however the benefits are largely appreciated with individuals who spend most of their time indoors. -
Front wheel drive (2)
These wheelchairs have the drive wheels at the front of the frame and the smaller steering/caster wheels in the rear. They respond well handling tight corners and provide great climbing ability up obstacles. With a rear-mounted battery, they provided a stable ride particualry down hills. -
Rear wheel drive (5)
These wheelchairs have the drive wheel at the rear of the frame and the caster/steering wheels in the front. A great choice for clients who are prone to over steering and spend most of their time outdoors. Rear wheel drive chairs are also considered to be easiest to drive with an attendant joystick.
