The Paediatric Lateral Trunk Support features the Axial technology that is known and loved from Spex, allowing you to achieve the correct support structure through a unique mechanically rotational system where the lateral pad can be placed in the optimum position for correct alignment of the user’s trunk.

Wheelchair transfers made easy
The Paediatric Lateral Support has a clever swing-away feature, much like that found on the Spex adult lateral supports, allowing unimpeded transfers in/out of the wheelchair.

Versatile mounting options
There are three ways to mount the Paediatric Lateral Support to a wheelchair. You can either forward or rear mount to the back support shell, or mount the lateral support to the back support canes so that is seperate for the back support for greater flexibility when installing.

Inverted mounting capabilities
The Paediatric Lateral Trunk Support has invertible mounting capability depending on where you want the swing-away release button to be positioned. These are available in left and right hand configurations where the swing-away release button is positioned on the lower side of the bracket. However these can be used on either the left or right side of the wheelchair.

Warranty Information
All Spex Accessories are guaranteed to be free from defects for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase, provided normal use. Should a defect in materials or workmanship occur within 12 months of the original date of purchase, Medifab Limited will, at its option, repair or replace it without charge. This warranty does not apply to punctures, tears or burns to the material or outer cover where applicable.

Spex Lateral Trunk Supports have been tested to and comply with the following standards:

  • AS/NZS 3695 and AS/NZS 3696 (Wheelchair Requirements and Test Methods)
  • AS/NZS ISO 16840.4 (Seating Systems for use in Motor Vehicles)

Spex also maintains a quality management system that is certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 13485:2016.
